In 2006, Neale Worley was invited by HRH Prince Charles to accompany him and and Camilla on a tour of Pakistan. The arrangement of an accompanying artist was a discreet opportunity that Prince Charles had been offering for some time. Neale has since been on two other tours but on this first one he decided to take a video camera and catch as much as he could of the experience. At the time there was no real idea of producing a film but when he returned, he worked with Dave Austin to put together this short video.
The result is a compelling glimpse of the artist under pressure in a fast paced royal tour attempting to capture the environment and people of Pakistan. We see Neale finding locations, setting up and taking what he can from the scene. We follow the creation of several paintings and view the finished result.
Some of the paintings featured in this film are part of the King's Tour Artists exhibition at Buckingham Palace in summer 2025. No other artist has filmed themselves on the Royal Tour so this film is a unique view of the process.
